Google Launches Two New Tools to Highlight the Importance of Page Speed on Mobiles

These are resources you want to check out ASAP.

As you know, Google is consistently pushing website owners to improve their mobile site experience. If your website isn’t up to snuff when it comes to their standards, it can impact your business. To help you out, they’ve launched multiple algorithms, guidelines, and tools.

Recently, at Mobile World Congress, they launched two new tools, a new Mobile Scorecard and a Conversion Impact Calculator. What exactly do these do?

The mobile scorecard provides data on the Chrome user experience so that you can compare the speed of multiple websites on mobile devices. It also pulls data from Chrome to compare the speed of multiple sites on mobile. That’s the same data that Google uses in the Page Speed Insights tool. Google maintains that a site should load within 5 seconds on 3g connections and 3 seconds on 4G connection.

The impact calculator gives a rough idea of how much revenue a business is losing because of slow page load speed. It might seem a bit exaggerated, and you may wonder exactly how they’re calculating that, but they have the multiple measurements that help them track this estimate. It’s useful information for you.

It’s a good time to get both tools, and see what they say about your website. And if you need mobile website design or redesign services, please don’t hesitate to drop us a line right here
